Technician Commitment Signatory Event 2022
The 2022 Technician Signatory Event was held at The Science Museum, where the Technicians: The David Sainsbury Gallery is hosted.
The event welcomed signatories of the Technician Commitment from across the UK to discuss all things technical services. The day included perspectives and experiences around; diversity, research, female technical leaders and more. The event ended with a private viewing of the recently opened gallery, Technicians: The David Sainsbury Gallery.
“It was a pleasure to attend this event to catch up with colleagues of new and existing signatories and to hear about all the opportunities and networking events from funders and Institutions that technical staff can get involved in.
Dr Lizzy James from Northumbria University summed it up with her session highlighting all the current activity and encouraging technicians to push the barriers; with the Northeast phrase ‘Shy bairns get nowt’ and #Take on Tomorrow
To be able to see the Technicians: the David Sainsbury Gallery exhibit at the Science museum was also amazing and even better to see it in action with pupils loving the hands-on exhibits; in particular the virtual welding!
